Program Goals
The Foundation for Trades, Inc. is dedicated to assisting individuals from varied backgrounds in uncovering rewarding career paths within the building trades. Our program emphasizes the importance of education and creates opportunities for individuals to explore and pursue careers in this field.
Through collaboration with our community, we strive to expand the horizons for those interested in working in the building trades by offering educational support, scholarships, and assistance in job placement. Through our mission we also hope to address the growing shortage of skilled workers in the building trades by fostering the development of a new workforce.
Foundation for Trades Business Model
Foundation for Trades provides a comprehensive educational approach, combining formal Trade School education with practical hands-on experience.
We collaborate with local contractors to offer internship opportunities, both paid and unpaid, to enhance practical knowledge and skills.
Candidates interested in our program must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, such as a GED. Upon successful completion of our educational program, we extend support, if necessary, in job placement and further education, including business management.
Scholarships for Technical Training
Foundation for Trades promotes self-sufficiency by supporting education in building trades for underemployed individuals. Offering scholarships for those in financial need, the foundation aims to cover technical school expenses for students demonstrating aptitude and commitment to working in their chosen trade. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, submit transcripts, a letter of recommendation, proof of trade school acceptance, and a 500-1,000 word essay on their motivation and need for aid. Early applicants receive priority.
