Program Goals

The Foundation for Trades, Inc. is dedicated to assisting individuals from varied backgrounds in uncovering rewarding career paths within the building trades. Our program emphasizes the importance of education and creates opportunities for individuals to explore and pursue careers in this field.

Through collaboration with our community, we strive to expand the horizons for those interested in working in the building trades by offering educational support, scholarships, and assistance in job placement. Through our mission we also hope to address the growing shortage of skilled workers in the building trades by fostering the development of a new workforce.

 

Technical School Scholarships

Foundation for Trades strives to bolster self-sufficiency through the promotion of education in building trades. We actively support underemployed individuals in cultivating robust skill sets encompassing construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, welding, and other sought-after trades.

To insure all are included, we offer limited scholarships tailored for those in need of financial aid, having demonstrating aptitude and a commitment to working in their chosen field post-graduation, while also meeting educational requirements. Award amounts are flexible and aimed at covering technical school expenses.

Prospective candidates are required to hold a high school diploma or GED, submit transcripts, a letter of recommendation, proof of acceptance to a trade school, and a 500 to 1,000-word essay articulating their motivation and need for financial assistance. Early applicants are given priority consideration.

 

Foundation for Trades Business Model

Foundation for Trades provides a comprehensive educational approach, combining formal Trade School education with practical hands-on experience.

We collaborate with local contractors to offer internship opportunities, both paid and unpaid, to enhance practical knowledge and skills.

Candidates interested in our program must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, such as a GED. Upon successful completion of our educational program, we extend support, if necessary, in job placement and further education, including business management.
